INSTRUCTIONS.
All entries to be submitted as colour photographs 6”x4” (inches) on photo paper of any type (gloss or matt)
Each photo to have an adhesive label on the back bearing clearly the Class Number, the entrants name the name of the goat ,date of birth and registration number.
PLEASE DO NOT WRITE ON THE PHOTOGRAPH as the impression detracts.
Photographs will not be returned as winning photographs will be forwarded to the BGS Office for publication in winter month journals.
The closing date for entries is MONDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER 2024 and should be sent by post to:

Please note I will not accept emailed photos which I have to print off.
There is no entry fee.
No photograph submitted should have been “Photoshopped” other than cropped and light adjusted. Neither must it have appeared in any BGS publication to date.
Adjudication will be by an independent BGS judge.
Multiple entries not exceeding 3 are accepted in every category.
For the individual animal being photographed in Classes 1 to 29 the photograph must be a side view shot taken with the head of the goat facing to the right. It is important that if a person is holding the animal then this person must not be identifiable in the photo. This will disqualify.

Class 1 Anglo Nubian goat in milk
Class 2 Golden Guernsey or British Guernsey goat in milk
Class 3 Toggenburg or Saanen Milking Goat
Class 4 British Alpine or British Toggenburg goat in milk or Swiss
marked type AOV in milk.
Class 5 British Saanen in milk goat or White AOV goat in milk.
Class 6 Anglo Nubian type AOV goat in milk
Class 6a Golden Guernsey type AOV in milk
Class 7 Adult female Bonte goat in milk
Class 8 Adult Boer Goat

Class 9 Anglo Nubian or AN type goatling

Class 29 The progeny of a named male goat shown collectively in one photo. (The
males does not but may feature.
Miscellaneous categories. (Note any angle positions here accepted)
Class 30 A head study of a Swiss type white or coloured female adult goat
Class 31 A head study of an Anglo Nubian or AN type female goat
Class 32 An IP line up photo.
Class 33 Photo taken during a milking competition weighing milk. (Please
state the show. Person (s) identified are permitted.)
Class 34 Photo of a goat husbandry activity ( any person identified is acceptable in this category)
Class 35 Any photograph of a goat any breed, any age taken by a junior or family
member at the age the age of 10 or under (please state clearly the name and age of the photographer.)
Class 36 As Class 35 the photographer being 11 to 16 years of age.
Keep an eye on the closing date Monday 23rd September 2024.
There will be a prize of £20 for the best overall judged photograph of a female goat in milk and likewise for the best judged overall photo of a male goat (any age). Classes 35 and 36 first prize winners will receive a £10 prize each respectively so get snapping.
