The AGM was held on 9 April 2016, where Gordon Webster was elected as our President for the next 2 years. Gordon has been a member of the BGS for over 40 years and has played an active role in the goat world over that period.
We also have 5 new Vice Presidents, Christine Ball, Ros Earthy, Margaret Edgington, Mike Elphick and Colin Newton.
The new Committee had its first meeting on 16 April 2016. We have a number of new committee members, and these are all welcomed onto the committee and we look forward to their fresh ideas.
Nick Parr is our new Chairman, with Margaret Hardman and Ian Johnson as Vice Chairpersons.
We have set up 3 Sub Groups to help streamline our work, a new Finance and General Purposes sub group to keep an eye on our finances and to be responsible for the office and administration of the BGS. This group includes Beth Fairley, Chris Nye, Nick Parr and Richard Pemble. The Show and Milk recording sub group includes Agnes Aiken, Tim Baker, Margaret Hardman and Jane Miller. On Publicity, Publications and Herd Book we have Terry Hanna, Vicky Hardy, Ian Johnson and John Rudkin.
The immediate priority is the appointment of our new Secretary and getting the office set up in its new location. More to follow in due course. In the meantime Rachel Fox is acting as temporary Secretary, and we hope that the changes will bring the minimal interruption to our services to members.
