Dear Member,
This notice is being issued to Members as due to an oversight the notice was not published in the October Monthly Journal.
The rule change 13.2 regarding Election of President, reads as follows:
“The President will be appointed bi-annually at the Annual General Meeting. Nominations for the office of President can only be made by members of the Society. In the year preceding appointment, the Secretary will place an invitation for nominations for the office of President in the October Monthly Journal. Nominations for the office may be submitted by members of the Society and must be received by the Secretary by no later than 31st December in the year preceding appointment. At the last committee meeting prior to the Annual General Meeting the committee will select the proposed candidate by ballot. In the event of a committee member not being in attendance at the committee meeting the vote can be made in writing or electronically, providing that the vote is received by the Secretary or Chairman by no later than 7 days before the committee meeting. The Secretary will then seek the consent of the preferred candidate to be appointed as President. In the event of the first candidate declining, the second preferred candidate will be asked to consent and so on in descending order. Subject to consent being given the candidate will be appointed President at the Annual General Meeting and will stay in office ending at the Annual General Meeting 2 years after appointment.”
All members are advised that any nominations for the office of President should be received in the office by 31st December 2024.
Rachel Fox
Secretary
