I am sad to report that Ruth Goodwin died on Thursday. She had been in a nursing home for a few months and I understand that she passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Ruth was involved in the goat world for many years having kept goats since she was a girl.
She played a very active part in the BGS throughout the boom years of the 1980s and 90s, sitting on the committee for many years and taking a very prominent role in scientific matters. She did a long stint as the Monthly Journal editor when that had become a massive publication, and was BGS President in 2001 and 2002. Condolences to her family, especially for their loss at the difficult time.
